Broadway has a reputation for being somewhat of a crazy place to be. There are a number of bars and saloons that attract younger people and those looking for an opportunity to party the night away. If you are visiting Nashville with your family or just looking for a family friendly place to eat in downtown Nashville, there are some options but they are mixed in with a bunch of restaurants that appeal to a less family friendly crowd.
Here are my two cents about whether or not Broadway in Nashville, TN is a family friendly place go visit.
Should you bring kids to Broadway in Nashville, TN?
Broadway is a big part of what makes Nashville such a big tourist attraction. However, at times it may not be suitable for younger kids or even teenagers. There are a number of bars and honky-tonks that require ID to enter after a certain point in the night. Many of these bars and honkytonks appeal to a more mature crowd and really are not great places to bring kids. Bands in some of the bars may play songs that are not family friendly and you will more than likely hear some vulgar words being tossed around that you may not want your kids to hear.
All in all if you are just visiting Nashville it may be worth bringing your kids to see live music show at a honky tonk or see some of the historical landmarks but after a certain point in the late afternoon, there are other areas of town that are far more family friendly.
Should you bring teenagers to Broadway in Nashville, TN?
When it comes to teenagers, it is up to your discretion. If you prefer your children not to hear inappropriate language and see people who are slightly to severely intoxicated, I would follow the same rules that I mentioned above. Try to visit broadway in Nashville earlier in the day before the crowds start to get crazy. There is no rule that forbids teenagers from being on Broadway in Nashville, TN but obviously they will not be able to get into some of the bars and honky tonks without being 21.
So if you are looking for the answer to the question “can you bring your kids to broadway in Nashville?” or “can you bring teenagers to broadway in Nashville?” the answer is yes but I would recommend visiting that area of town earlier in the day… before things start getting wild.
